card I made for my dear nurse on her birthday that helps me a lot every day I work... i tried incorporating tim holtz's grunge style with a feminine touch...

was at micheals today and saw their canvas tote bag on sale for 90cents!!! who can pass that up??? i bought several or did i buy out all they had???  (as i have a fetish for tote bags he he he)...i thought i can try vintage for my first attempt at sewing and decorating on fabric...as i cannot, am not, will not...learn to use my own sewing machine, i am "forced" to hand stitch my idea...took me the entire day today to finish...anyway, try not to scrutinize my elemental attempt at running stitches...i think it looks pretty "vintagy"  (if there is such a word...)  what do you think?

Today is the Philippine Independence Day "Araw ng Kalayaan". Philippines was declared independent from Spain's 300 years rule on  June 12, 1898.

 

 I saw this hut and coconut trees among the AI stamps I recently acquired and thought it appropriate for today. Now I long for blue skies and swaying coconut trees beside the ocean...

WATERCOLORS FOR PROJECT LIFE

I've always been envious of people who are talented in any form of art...especially paintings and drawings...so when michelle wooderson at mish mash blog blogged about watercolors, I wanted to try it too!!! I love all forms of flowers and when she painted flowers in her watercolor book, I wanted to try too!!! So this is my attempt at watercoloring...maybe I'll take a class someday...

 

I also used a couple to hero arts stamp which I used watercolors on...these I would use for my project life albums...

 

 

I am also hooked on these vellum sewn together to create a pocket that can be filled with anything.  I like mine with a simple word and lots of sequins and beads...since I don't know how to use my sewing machine, I hand stitched this simple running stitch which was quite relaxing to do... now that I have been making lots of cards for my project life album, I better get some of my pictures printed so I can finish March...

 

make it monday: no sew quilted cards

when I saw dawn's video about this no-sew quilted card, I know it was meant for me...I have a sewing machine that I don't know how to use but been meaning to learn for several years now...maybe this summer...in the meantime, I am happy with this no-sewing technique.  here's my project life card to start my march pictures. hope you like it...

baby doves update

just checked on the baby doves.  there's 2 in the nest that looks like they're growing bigger but unfortunately I found a dead baby one on the ground and an unhatched egg by the nest. hope the 2 survives...

scrapbook pages

I was looking thru my son's scrapbook album and found these pages I want to share with you...I used some PL cards for some of the layouts.  These are pages I have made from several months ago to years ago.  My son is now 12 years old!!! I wish (at times) those days of him as a baby would come back...but I'm glad he's growing up to be such a nice kid so far...

update on my mama dove.  2 of her eggs hatched!!!  2 baby doves in the nest with one unhatched egg.  so cute!!!

PTI Make It Monday challenge: stamping with watercolor medium.  I used gelatos like Heather for my watercolor medium.  I can's believe it was so easy to stamp with water and gelatos.  It sure gave a cool watercolor effect!  Hope you like my 4x6 card that I will use for my project life album.

I wanted to stamp this afternoon and I took down my PTI and stampinup stamps.  I also felt like coloring with my copics.  This is the end result which I will use for my project life album later...

my nephew's bday party is on Saturday and I made him this card. I just received this balloon dies from PTI and wanted to experiment on it.  I also used tim holtz happy bday stamp.  made for a simple and clean card, I think...

was at walmart today looking for gardening soil and pots when I saw the flowers they were selling.  took some shots...

...thought I was at some garden shows.  the flowers were pretty.  I sure love this spring time!!!
